Malakhovka is the only place in Russia, that preserved a house, in which the great Russian-French artist Marc Shagall lived. It is a wooden 2-story house at the address 25, Pioneer street (now — an elementary school). The great artist lived in this house with his family during one and the half years in the beginning of 1920s. Here M. Shagall taught painting in the labor school-colony for homeless Jewish children.
